so i am a firm believer that we learn something new almost every day. today was one of those days. after about a week of no internet on my computer for reasons unknown to me, i took it to the tech support guys at school. turns out there's an on/off switch for wireless on my computer, and sure enough, it was OFF. so they turned it ON for me, and sent me along my merry way. crazy. the things i learn....

today was day one of class for my jan term. i'm taking a peace and conflicts studies class entitled 'the sociology of violence.' looks like it has real potential to be real interesting. unfortunately i have one of those people in my class. you know, the one who always has to ask the unnecessary questions, has to debate with the professor over the most trivial things (and usually ends up being dead wrong), has to ask for the extra clarification of the simplest points, and has to throw out examples or commonalities to things just to seem like they are very experienced and knowledgable.... really, by the time our break rolled around i wanted to put my cigarette out in her eye. maybe she'll get sick and lose her voice. that'd be neat....

work was lame tonight. i got all the crazy customers. seriously, it's like they flock to me. and i had to return a lost child. this kid walks out of the bathroom and i assume his mom is in the store somewhere (he can't be more than three). then when i'm in the front folding down clothes he goes up to the doors, then walks out the doors. so i go out after him and ask where his mom is. he says she's at vitoria's secret. um, ok, that's like a block away from our store (it's an outdoor mall). so i tell him we're gonna go find her and he takes off running. i'm sure i seemed like one of those scary strangers that his mom always taught him to run away from, but i was terrified that this kid was gonna get hit by a car. i catch up to him and we get to VS, just in time to see his mom having a panic attack with all the VS ladies. apparently he had to use the bathroom. and he knew we have one at the gap. so he used it.

i freak out when i lose my purse when we go out to the club (and i lose it quite often). i can only imagine how panicked i would be if i lost a child.

ok, homework and then sleep. bah! i hate school! 21 more credits and a thesis....

always.....
